Our July 6-7 Live Auction in Knoxville features more than 1,000 lots of Fine Art, Antiques and Jewelry from the founding family of Rogersville, TN, and from the historic Pinckney family of Charleston, SC; from the estate of William J. Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. Sale starts 9 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, July 6 (lots #1-671) and continues at 1 PM Sunday, July 7 (lots #672-1086) at our Knoxville Gallery, 4310 Papermill Drive.

Grouping of coin silver flatware including: Four (4) tablespoons with tipt handles and rounded fins, stamped S. BELL in rectangles for Samuel Bell, b. 1797-d.1881, working Knoxville, TN 1819-1852 and later Texas; four (4) teaspoons marked Hope & Miller (John William Hope and Fred Miller), working Knoxville circa 1870; three (3) William Young tablespoons, b.1783 - d.1860, working Philadelphia, PA 1761 - 1788; one (1) tablespoon by Nicholas Geffroy, b. 1761 - d. 1839, working Newport, Rhode Island circa 1795. Ranging in size from 5 3/4" to 9" L  13.06 total coin silver troy ounces. 

PROVENANCE: By direct descent through the Joseph Rogers and Dr. Hugh Kelso Walker families, early founders of Rogersville, TN.

Condition

All items with wear commensurate with use and age and all pieces monogrammed. Bell spoons with losses to bowl tips and some bending to handles. Hope & Miller spoons with bending to handles and one with tear to lower handle. William Young spoons with heavy use wear including losses to bowls and heavy pitting to bowls. Nicholas Geffroy spoon with repair to the side of the bowl.
