Our July 6-7 Live Auction in Knoxville features more than 1,000 lots of Fine Art, Antiques and Jewelry from the founding family of Rogersville, TN, and from the historic Pinckney family of Charleston, SC; from the estate of William J. Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. Sale starts 9 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, July 6 (lots #1-671) and continues at 1 PM Sunday, July 7 (lots #672-1086) at our Knoxville Gallery, 4310 Papermill Drive.

Group of heavy coin silver flatware in the King / Queen pattern, marked for Baldwin Gardiner and other New York City makers/retailers, c. 1830, totaling six (6) tablespoons, five (5) dessert spoons, three (3) forks and two (2) teaspoons. Includes four (4) tablespoons and one (1) dessert spoon marked B*G in rectangle for Baldwin Gardiner, plus two (2) tablespoons and four (4) dessert spoons marked B & R in rectangle for Brower and Rusher. (The spoons are identical in design and all have the same pseudo hallmarks). Also includes three (3) forks marked PB&C in rectangle, and two (2) teaspoons, one stamped CP&U and the other stamped TR, each with pseudo hallmarks. The design of the forks and teaspoons differs slightly from each other and from the larger spoons. Combined weight: 36.48 oz troy.

PROVENANCE: By descent in the historic Pinckney family of Runnymede Plantation, South Carolina.

Condition

Forks and 1 teaspoon with light wear to tips, other pieces with some scattered light wear to surface and monograms. All items with various monograms.
