1st item: The New Constitution of the State of Tennessee, as revised by the Convention of Delegates, Assembled in Nashville, January 10, 1870. Nashville: Jones, Purvis & Co., Printers to the State, 1870. 8vo, 32pp, re-covered in unrelated paper covers. Note: Known for permanently abolishing slavery, this version was also written in order to undo the electoral laws passed by Reconstruction governor William G. Brownlow. It remained unchanged until 1953. 8 7/8 in. x 5 1/2 in. 2nd Item: A Series of Lectures, in the Most Important Subjects in Divinity, by Finis Ewing. Fayetteville, T. [Tennessee]: Printed for the Cumberland Presbyterian Synod, by E. and J. B. Hill, 1827. First edition. 12mo, original brown leather, black leather label, gilt rules and lettering, 222pp. 6 7/8 in. x 4 3/8 in. Note: Published by a scarce Tennessee publisher.

Condition

1st item (Constitution): re-stitched in old, unrelated paper covers, chipping and dampstaining throughout, writing to covers. 2nd item (Lectures): Leather chipped and scratched, previous owner's name front, some dampstaining, some pencil writing to interior.
