1st item: English Chamberlain's Worcester armorial plate with lobed gilt and bright blue border having floral reserves and coat of arms for the Baron Ward, Earl of Dudley, and bearing the French motto, 'Comme Je Fus' (as I Was). Impressed mark "Chamberlain's Worcester" to reverse. 10 in. diameter. 2nd item: Edouard Honore French porcelain plate, circa 1800-1820, with green border having stenciled green leaves and center armorial of a lion surmounting a shield, the arms of the Duke of Northumberland, from the House of Percy. 8 1/2 in. diameter. Barely visible remnants of the Ed. Honore backstamp with reference to Manufactory Dagoty en verso. An old note adhered en verso makes an incorrect genealogy reference to Lord Algernon Percy (1779-1833), diplomatic Minister Plenipotentiary to the Confederated States of the Swiss Cantons, incorrectly stating he was the second son of the (childless) 4th Duke of Northumberland, also named Algernon Percy; however, the plate is believed to have descended in a branch of the Percy family.

Condition

1st item: Overall good condition with areas of light wear to gilding and faint crazing to center. 2nd item: 3/4 inch repaired flake to rim; some wear to painted crest, particularly the banner, and to the gilding at rim.
