1st item: Manos Rovithis (Greece, 1927-1998) oil on canvas painting of a seated nun at Kythira, Greece, surrounded by colorful, brightly lit architecture and rendered in heavy impasto, 1994. Signed and dated lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame with cream fabric liner and white fillet. With brass nameplate. Sight: 7 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W. Frame: 15 5/8" H x 17 5/8" W. 2nd item: Achille Petrocelli (Italy, 1861-1929) oil on canvas painting of a young boy in a wide-brimmed red hat smoking a cigarette. Signed "Petrocelli," lower center. Housed in a giltwood frame with ebonized fillet. Sight: 13" H x 9 1/2" W. Frame: 19" H x 15 3/4" W.
Condition
Both items in overall good condition, not examined outside of frames. 1st item: Surface grime primarily to left and lower right. Not examined outside of frame. 2nd item: 1" x 3/4" repair with inpainting to lower right. Pinpoint loss to lower right.
