Two framed (2) European painted porcelain plaques. 1st item: German porcelain plaque depicting a young gypsy woman standing by a birch tree in a larger forest setting. Signed lower right "Brodel" tited en verso "Zigeunerin nach Tisehendorff". Additionally stamped en verso MADE IN GERMANY together with a paper label and the initials JE. Housed in a gilt carved rococo style wood frame. Plaque: 5 7/8" H x 4 1/8" W. Framed: 13 1/4" H x 9 1/4" W. Late 19th/Early 20th century. 2nd item: European porcelain plaque, likely German, depicting a partially nude female draped with a black cloth with an owl flying overhead, possibly depicting the Greek moon goddess Selene. Unsigned with impressed 346A en verso. Housed in a carved gilt wood frame with velvet liner. Sight: 5 1/2" H x 3 3/4" W. Framed: 9 1/8" H x 7 1/4" W. Late 19th/Early 20th century.

Condition

1st tiem: Plaque with rubbing and very slight losses to perimeter. Frame with old repairs and gilt paint touch up. Easel attachment is broken off but is retained with the frame. 2nd item: Overall good condition with minor toning from frame border, minor area of residue to upper left edge, some light rubbing and minor glaze loss to the lower section of the plaque, and minor fleabite to the lower left corner.
