W. 2nd item: Unknown artist, possibly Kitagawa Fujimaro (Japan, 1790-1850) or after Utagawa Kuniyoshi (Japan, 1797-1861) bijin-ga color woodblock print that depicts a woman in a snowy landscape, with a body of water and village beyond, early 20th century. Housed under glass in a silvered wood frame with black textile mat. Sight: 11 3/4 in. H x 7 5/8 in. W. Framed: 17 1/8 in. H x 12 7/8 in. W. 3rd-4th items: Two (2) framed facsimiles of early Japanese woodblock prints: "A Hawk on a Cliff near a Kiri Tree," after Torii Kiyomasu I (Japan, fl. 1704-18), c. 1718, and "The Insistent Lover," Sugimura Jihei (Japan, fl. 1681-1698), c. 1684/98, from an untitled series of erotic prints. Both from the 1955 portfolio "12 Woodcuts, The Clarence Buckingham Collection of Japanese Prints," issued to accompany Helen Gunsaulus, THE CLARENCE BUCKINGHAM COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS (Chicago: The Art Institute of Chicago, 1955), itself published in a limited edition of 500 copies. Both housed under glass in giltwood frames with black mats and gold reveals.
