Pair (2) of Nymphenburg Porcelain Manufactory polychrome porcelain figures after Auliczek, including "Vacchus als Herbst" depicting Bacchus, the Roman god of agriculture, wine, and fertility and "Ceres als Sommer" depicting Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture, fertility, grains, the harvest, motherhood, the earth, and cultivated crops, both depicted partial nude and seated with their respective iconography, situated on naturalistic bases. Impressed Nymphenburg shield mark with numbers to underside of bases. Both approximately 14" H x 8" W x 7 1/2" D. Note: This pair is a 20th-century reissue of an 18th-century pair originally created by Domenikus Auliczek (Bohemia, 1734-1804) around 1754.

Condition

Minor areas of repair to grapes and leaves of Bacchus figurine, scattered minute paint flakes, areas of loss to Ceres' shawl, otherwise very good condition.
