Twenty-one (21) assembled George I to George III period sterling silver spoons, including: a 1722 George I tablespoon by Richard Scarlett with a Hanoverian mid-rib rat-tail handle and armorial of a boar's head; a 1724 George I tablespoon by Starling Wilford, with mid-rib double drop handle; a 1729 George II tablespoon by Edward Bennett I with a Hanoverian mid-rib rat-tail hand and boar's head armorial; a 1730 George II tablespoon by John Wrenn I with a Hanoverian mid-rib handle; a 1741 George II tablespoon by Jeremiah King with a Hanoverian mid-rib handle engraved "EH"; a 1742 George II tablespoon by William Soame in Hanoverian pattern; a 1746 George II tablespoon by Ebenezer Coker, Hanoverian pattern and engraved EMB; a 1748 George II Old English tablespoon by Philip Roker II with engraved lion family crest; a 1751 George II Hanoverian tablespoon by Peter Bennett with foliate and engraved motto decoration; a 1759 George II Hanoverian tablespoon by Ebenezer Coker with the initials WB engraved to the back; a 1759 George II dessert spoon by Thomas & William Chawner monogrammed ACD; a 1761 Hanoverian tablespoon by William Turner engraved in a "Betrothal Triangle  "W over RD" ; 1763 Hanoverian tablespoon by William Withers; 1766 Hanoverian table spoon by Thomas and William Chawner, engraved W; a 1768 Hanoverian tablespoon marked by an unknown maker TE and engraved with initials G:C; a 1770 Old English tablespoon marked TE over GS likely Thoma Evan & George Smith or Thomas Eustace & George Smith; 1773 Old English tablespoon by Stephen Adams I monogrammed B on the drop; a 1774 Hanoverian Shell Back "Marriage" tablespoon by George Smith II, with engraved initials C over RC; a 1775 Old English betrothal tablespoon by William Fearn engraved I*EI; and a pair of Hanoverian tablespoons by Thomas Wallis I engraved RM. Spoons range in size from 6 1/2 in. L to 8 3/8 in. L 41.20 total troy ounces. 

Condition

All spoons with light general surface wear, a couple with minor pitting, and wear to tips.

If you pick up your lots from any of our galleries, Tennessee state sales tax will apply. Sales tax will only be waived if you provide a valid resale certificate from your state of residence.


If paying with a credit card, a 3.5% credit card processing fee will be applied to the final sales price (i.e. hammer price + buyer's premium + applicable taxes). If you have a credit card on file with Case, any winning bids will be automatically charged (up to $3000) along with applicable fees 72 hours after you receive your invoice unless other arrangements have been made.
