Three (3) Native American Inuit baleen items. 1st item: Oval lidded woven baleen basket box, the lid with horned animal figural finial on inset bone base. 2 1/4" H x 4 1/2" W. 2nd item: Circular lidded baleen basket box with seal head figural finial on a central inset bone base. 2 1/2" H x 2 1/2" dia. 3rd item: Oval form bone box with bear figural finial to the baleen woven lid, wood base. 2" H x 1 1/2" W. First half of the 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Richard J. Eskind, Nashville.
Condition
1st item: Very good condition with minor wear. 2nd item - some fading to weavers, and a broken weaver near base. 3rd item: Vertical hairline or shrinkage to one side.
