W. 1983. 2nd item: Painting titled "Picking Blackberries" that depicts a group of women and children who pick blackberries that grow on a wooden fence. A dog watches from lower right. Signed lower left and additionally signed, titled, and dated on the backing. Housed in a wormy wood frame. Sight: 4 1/2 in. H x 5 1/2 in. W. Framed: 6 1/2 in. H x 7 1/2 in. W. 1983. 3rd item: Painting titled "The Twins with Treats" that depicts two girls who eat watermelons while accompanied by a chicken and dog. A woman washes laundry in a basin at right while another figure sits and eats a watermelon before a house and sunset sky. Signed lower right and additionally signed, titled, and dated to backing. Biographical Note: Peti Clements was a female folk artist raised on a rural Alabama farm and many of her paintings depict scenes recalled from her early, everyday life. Her work is represented in the permanent collection of the Tennessee Valley Art Museum, Tuscumbia, AL.
