1st and 2nd items: Two (2) Woodcut Prints by Edward "Ted" Faiers (Canadian/American/Memphis, 1908-1985). Includes one black and white print on Japan paper titled "Enchanted Forest" in pencil lower left, signed in pencil lower right and dated 1958; 21" x 14 1/2" (sheet), float mounted on black mat in black frame, 25" x 18", together with one color print titled "Rejoice," in pencil lower left, signed in pencil lower right and dated 1960; 7 1/2" x 5" (sheet), float mounted on ivory mat in a molded giltwood frame, 13" x 11". Note: English-born Ted Faiers grew up in Western Canada, was educated at the Art Students League in New York, and taught for more than three decades at the Memphis College of Art. He is known for his abstract works inspired by his mentor Wil Barnet and by Indian space painters, whose forms, colors and patterns recall traditional Native American pottery and weavings. (Source: The Art of Tennessee Catalog, Frist Center, 2003; Ted Faiers website). 3rd item: Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958) book illustration wood engraving from Passion by Andre Suares, engraved by Georges Aubert. Published by Vollard, Paris, 1939. Inscribed on mat: "From 'Le Passion' / original wood engraving / designed by / G. Rouault / cut by / G. Aubert." 9" x 7" (sight); housed under glass in an ebonized and giltwood frame with tan mat, 14" x 16".

Condition

1st and 2nd items: light creasing to black and white print; light toning to color print, overall good condition; not examined out of frame. 3rd item: some waviness to paper and light toning, overall good condition; not examined out of frame. Frame has been repainted and has losses to gilt.
