Historical note: "A Bunch of Buckskins," a portfolio containing eight (8) lithographic images of Western subjects, was regarded as Frederic Remington's most successful print series. It was published 1901 by frequent Remington collaborator R.H. Russell. (The original pastels from the portfolio were included in the artist's first solo gallery exhibition in New York in December 1901). In 1908, Remington is said to have been delighted when he checked into the Irma Hotel in Cody, Wyoming, and saw a full set framed and hanging in the lobby.

1st item with 5-inch repaired tear without loss that runs from right edge through extreme tip of horse's nose plus 1-inch tear without loss to edge at upper left, by hinge. 1st-3rd items hinge-mounted to mats with archival tape affixed to versos.
