Hardcover octavos, 1,311 total marbled-edged pages with illustrations and black and white photogravure frontispieces with tissue paper guards and facsimile Scribner signature, hardbound in three-quarter black leather with black cloth sides, gilt lettering and gilt stamping to spines, five raised hubs, marbled paper pastedowns and end papers. Approximately 10 1/4" H x 7 1/2" W x 2 3/4" D. 3rd item: HISTORY OF THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY, by Professor N. H. Winchell, et al., published by the Minnesota Historical Company, Minneapolis, 1881. Hardcover octavo, 717 marble-edged pages including index with back advertisements, hardbound in three-quarter dark brown leather with brown cloth sides, gilt lettering and borders to covers, gilt lettering to spine, five raised hubs, light green pastedowns and end papers. 11" H x 9" W x 2" D. 4th item: THE COUNTY OF HIGHLAND: A HISTORY OF HIGHLAND COUNTY, OHIO, by the Reverend John William Klise, edited by A. E. Hough, published by the Northwestern Historical Association, Madison, 1902. Hardcover octavo, 535 pages, hardbound in three-quarter red leather with red cloth sides, gilt lettering and gilt borders to covers and spine. 10 1/2" H x 8" W x 1 3/4" D.

Condition

All books in overall good condition. Cover with general wear with areas of loss, rubbing, scuffs, general handling wear, pages in overall good condition with toning, pencil inscriptions from previous owners, minute foxing spots, and tears. 3rd item: Spine has been re-backed with brown tape, end papers have been repaired with green tape. Fragment of binding included.
