Our July 6-7 Live Auction in Knoxville features more than 1,000 lots of Fine Art, Antiques and Jewelry from the founding family of Rogersville, TN, and from the historic Pinckney family of Charleston, SC; from the estate of William J. Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. Sale starts 9 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, July 6 (lots #1-671) and continues at 1 PM Sunday, July 7 (lots #672-1086) at our Knoxville Gallery, 4310 Papermill Drive.

5 Coin Silver Spoons attributed to 18th century Charleston, South Carolina, makers Richard Pitts, James Monk, Christian Wittich, Enos Reeves, and John Winckler. 1st item: Tablespoon with oval end, marked RP in rectangle, attributed to Richard Pitts, working Charleston, SC 1746-1770. 9" L, 1.79 troy ounces. 2nd item: Teaspoon with pointed ends, marked MONK in rectangle, attr. James Monk, working Charleston, SC circa 1797-1808. 5 1/3" L, .39 troy ounces. 3rd item: Salt ladle with rounded end, marked CW in oval, attributed to Christian Charles Lewis Wittich, working Charleston 1785-circa 1804. 4" L, .21 troy ounces. 4th item: Small teaspoon with rounded end and slight mid rib handle, marked ER in rectangle (twice), attributed to Enos Reeves, working Charleston, SC 1784-1807. 4 1/2" L, .22 troy ounces. 5th item: Tablespoon with pointed oval end, marked I*W in rectangle (twice), possibly John Winckler, working Charleston, SC, 1761-1763. 9" L, 1.67 troy ounces.

PROVENANCE: Private Southern Collection.

Condition

Overall good condition. Dent to bowl of salt ladle. Tablespoon marked IW has wear to end of bowl and to monogram. Wear to mid rib on handle of teaspoon marked ER.
