Group of six (6) Catawba Native American pottery forms. 1st item: An early jar with Chief effigy head handles, unsigned. Note: A McKissick Museums letter included with the lot states that the early Chief effigy jar was purchased between 1920-1922 from Catawba women in South Carolina who were selling pottery door-to-door. Early 20th century. 2nd item: Bowl with Chief effigy head handles, unsigned but attributed to Martha Jane Harris. Early 20th century. 3rd-6th items: One (1) small bowl with crimped rim, unsigned; one (1) small pitcher, unsigned; one (1) small round bowl with tripodal feet, unsigned; and one (1) small footed dish with shaped rim, signed "Louis Bryan, Sept. 1976". 3rd-6th items: Second half of the 20th century. All six (6) pottery objects range in size from 2" H x 2 1/2" dia. to 9" H x 9 1/2" W.

Effigy bowl with chip to rim, fleabites and losses to effigy heads, light scattered scratching to glaze. Tripodal bowl with chips to rim. Ruffle rim bowl with chipping to rim, scattered surface wear. Pitcher and small dish overall good condition.
