Six (6) South African abstract paintings. 1st item: Hargreaves Ntukwana (South Africa, 1938-1999) oil wash and ink on board painting rendered in earth tones depicting two figures seated on a ledge with a banjo and a bongo drum. Signed "H. Ntukwana" lower left. Housed in a giltwood frame with brown canvas liner and giltwood sight edge. Sight: 26 1/2" H x 35" W. Framed: 38 1/4" H x 46 1/2" W. 2nd item: Hargreaves Ntukwana oil wash and ink on board painting depicting the heads of two figures with worker helmets and an ax head. Signed "H. Ntukwana" lower right. Housed in a gilt metal frame. Sight: 39 5/8" H x 27 7/8" W. Framed: 41 5/8" H x 24 1/8" W. 3rd item: Hargreaves Ntukwana oil wash and ink on paper painting depicting a hooded figure carrying a smaller figure upon their back. Signed "H. Ntukwana" lower left. Housed and double matted under glass in an orange metal frame. Sight: 27" H x 19 1/2" W. Framed: 33 5/8" H x 25 3/4" W. 4th item: Hargreaves Ntukwana oil wash and ink on paper painting depicting a still life of fruit upon an indistinct surface. Signed "H. Ntukwana" lower left. Matted: 27 1/4" H x 35" W. 5th item: Enoch Tshabalala (South Africa, b. 1941) watercolor on paper painting depicting figures traversing a road during a light rain with umbrellas, pails, or a bike having trees in the background beneath a hazy blue sky. Signed "E. Tshabalala" lower right. Housed and matted under glass in a chrome-painted wooden frame. Sight: 11 3/4" H x 18" W. Framed: 18 1/4" H x 23 3/4" W. 6th item: Godfrey Ndaba (South Africa, b. 1947) pastel on paper depicting three musicians with short black hair seated side by side playing a guitar or one of two woodwind instruments. Signed and dated "Godfrey Ndaba '80" lower left. Matted, but unframed. Sight: 22 1/2" H x 36 1/2" W. Framed: 28 5/8" H x 42 1/8" W.

Condition

1st-2nd items: Scattered minute abrasions to paint layer. 3rd item: Minor warping to mat and minute abrasions to glass. 4th item: Scattered minor discoloration to mat. 5th item:" Crack to glass upper right corner measuring approximately 11 3/4" L. 6th item: Minor warping to paper. Discoloration and losses to mat.
