Six (6) Asian metal vessels, vases and teapots. 1st item: Chinese cloissonne vase, amphora form, with two quilong dragons chasing a flaming pearl to body and foliate bands to shoulder, neck, and base. Old sticker label to neck. 12 5/8" H x approx. 6 1/4" dia. Early 19th century. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) Chinese bronze vases, including one (1) baluster form with crane and cloud relief decoration to body and character marks stamped to rim; and one (1) hexagonal archaistic form with temple dragon loop handles, segmented body with engraved designs throughout, and polychrome enamel accent band, stamped with seal form to underside. Baluster form: 9 3/4" H x approx. 6 1/4" dia. Archaistic form: 13" H x approx. 7 1/4" dia. Late 19th/early 20th century. 4th-6th items: Three (3) Japanese cast iron Tetsubin teapots, including one (1) with embossed tree to body and prism-shaped finial; one (1) with embossed foliate symbols and protruding band to body and wire-wrapped handle; and one (1) with incised line to body, trefoil handle and finial, and character marks to body and underside of lid. Overall with handles ranging in size from 8 7/8" H x approx. 7 1/4" dia. to 9 3/8" H x approx. 8 1/4" dia. Likely Meiji period, 19th century.

Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.

Condition

1st item: Scattered minor discoloration and wear to enamel; light scattered pitting throughout; minute denting to body. 2nd-3rd items: Baluster form missing the base, area of discoloration to rim, and loss to body measuring 1/4" x 3/8" with corresponding spidering fracture. Archaistic form with minor flaw in the making to lower portion of one segment and sticker residue to rim. 4th-6th items: Oxidation and surface wear commensurate with age and manner of use. Teapot with protruding band with loss to underside measuring 1/4" dia. Teapot with character marks with minute residue to finial.
