Murfree (1850-1922) was great-granddaughter of Colonel Hardy Murfree who founded Murfreesboro in 1807. Published under her pseudonym "Charles Egbert Craddock"; Murfree's novel about Tennessee mountain life was well-received nationwide. 2nd Item: THE CIVIL WAR IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE by Ed Huddleston. Nashville: Parthenon Press, 1965. Signed by the author on the title page. Originally published in the Nashville Banner newspaper as supplements. 3rd Item: ECHOES OF HAPPY VALLEY, Letters and Diaries, Family Life in the South, Civil War History by Thomas Felix Hickerson, 1962. Signed by the author. 4th Item: HISTORY OF WOODBURY AND CANNON COUNTY, TENNESSEE by Sterling Spurlock Brown (1869-1958), Manchester, TN: Doak Printing Co. 1936. 8vo, 235pp, multiple black and white photos and illustrations. Includes many other Cannon County communities including Auburntown, Gassaway, Readyville, etc. 5th Item: CENTURY REVIEW OF MAURY COUNTY, TENNESSEE 1807-1907; Maury County Historical Society reprint. 6th Item: HISTORY OF MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE by William Bruce Turner Nashville: The Parthenon Press, 1955. 8v0, 404pp. 7th Item: HISTORY OF TENNESSEE ILLUSTRATED, MADISON COUNTY Goodspeed Publishing Company, Reprinted 1979, 120pp. Originally published 1887. 8th Item: HISTORY OF TENNESSEE..., Nashville: The Goodspeed Publishing Co., 1886. One of multiple volumes published by Nashville publisher Westin A. Goodspeed over 1886-1887, each containing a lengthy general history of Tennessee followed by select county biographies. Intact "Aboriginal Map" folded in. Ranging in size from 7 in x 5 in (Prophet) to 14 in x 9 in (Civil War).

1st Item (Prophet): Spine intact but somewhat loose, prev. owner's label inside front cover, some pages chipped with losses, (not affecting text); 2nd Item (Civil War): Very Good in archival cover, prev. owner's gift inscription; 3rd Item (Echoes): Good, no DJ; 4th Item (Woodbury): Good, with toning and roughing to boards, corners bumped; 5th Item (Century): Very Good, slight lean; 6th Item (Maury): Good, pages toned; 7th Item (Madison): As New; 8th Item (History): Poor with detached cover, multiple loose pages.
