After Giovanni Francesco Romaneli (Italy, 1610-1662) oil on canvas painting, "The Cumaean Sibyl," depicting the Greek prophetess seated under a tree and resting on a column, holding a Latin book and gazing downward, 19th c. or earlier. Note: The Henry Graves & Company label affixed to stretcher reads "...Dealers In Works Art to Her Majesty the Queen," in reference to Queen Victoria, which dates the label to 1844-c.1901. Graves became sole proprietor and namesake of the firm in 1844 and Victoria died in 1901.
