With partial Henry Graves & Company label affixed to back of stretcher. Housed in a deep cove molded and carved gilt wood and gesso frame. Sight: 18 1/8" H x 14 1/2" W. Framed: 26" H x 21 3/4" W. Note: The Henry Graves & Company label affixed to stretcher reads "...Dealers In Works Art to Her Majesty the Queen," in reference to Queen Victoria, which dates the label to 1844-c.1901. Graves became sole proprietor and namesake of the firm in 1844 and Victoria died in 1901.
