American School oil on canvas portrait painting depicting a young woman with short brunette hair and rosy cheeks dressed in a black gown with tulle sleeves and an accent bodice holding a coral-colored, feather fan and seated before a dark, sea-green background. Unsigned. Illegible pencil inscription, en verso. Housed in a carved giltwood frame. Sight: 35 3/4" H x 23 7/8" W. Framed: 41 3/4" H x 29 7/8" W. Early 20th century.

Overall good condition with slight warping to canvas. Area in the subjects right eye fluoresces under UV light, measuring 1/2" L. Frame with minor areas of splitting and loss to gilt, largest measuring 1 1/4" L.
