Annie Tolliver (Alabama, 1950-2018) paint on board depiction of an American flag flying atop a skyscraper, titled en verso "God Bless America" and dated Oct. 18, 2001. The painting likely references or depicts the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, destroyed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack. Signed lower center, "Annie T." Unframed. 35 in. H x 17 in. W. Note: Annie Tolliver was the daughter of well-known Alabama outsider artist Mose Tolliver.
Condition
Sticker residue upper right center, background, and natural irregularities to board, otherwise excellent condition.
