Arthur Louis Helwig (Ohio, 1899-1976) impressionistic oil on canvas painting titled "Picnic" depicting figures in a landscape setting, including a group having a picnic in the foreground and several standing by the shore of a body of water in the background. Signed "helwig" lower left. Titled, en verso of frame. Housed in a wooden frame with gilt trim. Sight: 25 1/2" H x 31 1/2" W. Framed: 32" H x 37 3/4" W.

Overall very good condition. Few scattered areas of inpainting to landscape surrounding pincinkers, largest 1/2" x 1", lower right. Frame with minor abrasions, areas of loss to gilt.
