Signed in pencil lower right and titled lower left. 1941. From the edition of 25. Ref. Guy Northrop, "Carroll Cloar: Hostile Butterflies," Cat. Raisonne #26. Housed in an ivory window mat. Sheet: 12 in. H x 16 in. W. Sight: 9 1/2 in. H x 12 1/2 in. W. Mat: 16 in. H x 20 in. W. Note: Another example of this rare print is in the collection of the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art.
Condition
Overall very good condition. With minor toning to sheet, especially to extreme edges. Inky marginal fingerprints, especially to lower margin, are likely an artifact of the printing process. Mounted with archival mounting corners.
