Aesthetic Movement porcelain urn-shaped vase, painted in the Japanese taste by Charles Labarre, now wired as a lamp. Overall lilac "crystalline" glaze ground with a hand-painted image of a Geisha, standing on a platform flanked by pine trees and serving tea, signed lower right "Ch. Labarre". Additionally decorated with gilt medallions and gilt elephant head handles and raised on a pierced gilt base. Vase: 17" H. Overall: 23" H. Late 19th century. Note: Charles Labarre was a reknowned porcelain painter, working during the late 1800s at both Doulton Burslem and Sevres.
Base drilled, otherwise overall very good condition. Wired with contemporary wiring and functioning at the time of inspection.
