Charlotte Nasmyth (United Kingdom, 1804-1884) oil on board painting titled "Alvaston Hall Near Derby" depicting a romantic landscape with 3 figures on a path, surrounded by foliage and with a gate leading to castle ruins in the background. Signed illegibly lower left. Old label with title and attribution and label for Pitt & Ssott Ltd, London, en verso. Housed in a giltwood Louis XIV style frame with a nameplate. Sight: 8 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W. Framed: 12 3/4" H x 15 3/4" W.
