Corneille Henri Theunissen (French, 1863-1918) figural bronze sculpture titled "Reverie Au Champ" or "Moissonneus Au Repos" depicting a young female resting upon sheaves of wheat with a threshing tool in her right hand. Signed lower edge CORNEILLE THEUNISSEN and additionally marked SUSSE FRERES EDTE PARIS together with the foundry stamp. Presentation inscription along the outer base edge reading A J.H. RICARD, Ing'r AGRONOME ANCIEN MINISTRE DE L'AGRICULTURE SES CAMARADES DE PROMOTION 1920". Fitted with a custom wood base. Sculpture: 14 3/4" H x 16" W. Base: 4 1/2" H x 16 1/2" W x 11 1/2" D.
Overall very good condition with old patina. A few very minor areas of pitting and some minor errant flecks of white. Base with some wear, light losses and scratching.
