Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle, engraved and inlaid with 18k gold by Angelo Bee. Chambered in .30 WCF caliber, with a 26-inch octagonal barrel, blue finish; Sheard gold bead front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight. Serial no. 517924, which corresponds to the year 1910. Once the property of renowned Winchester collectors Peter and Patty Murray, this rifle has undergone substantial upgrading by engraver Angelo Bee, and finely detailed foliate scroll engraving can be found on most metal surfaces. Stock is of Circassian walnut finely checkered and carved with oak leaf and acorn carved patterns (reportedly by Angelo's wife Maria). The right side of the receiver has an engraved vignette featuring a raised gold moose in a forest scene. The left side of the receiver is engraved with a vignette of a raised gold grizzly bear and two dogs, against a background of mountains and forest; it is signed "A. BEE" with Angelo's bee logo alongside. Matching engraving can be found on the muzzle, top of the bolt, hammer, top tang, magazine band, lever, floorplate, forend cap, and butt-plate, as well as multiple screw heads. Also in gold are the "Winchester" name on the tang, the Winchester proof marks, and the serial number. Gold lines outline the hammer, action, upper tang, both scenes, and both ends of the barrel. A copy of the consignor's original purchase receipt and auction catalog to be made available to the winning bidder. Barrel 26" L, Overall 44" L.

NOTE: Most firearms made after 1898 require passing an FFL background check prior to transfer. The date of production for this gun makes it subject to FFL rules. Please be prepared with proper identification and information. If you do not reside in Tennessee, an FFL dealer in your state is required to complete the transfer.

PROVENANCE: Purchased from the estate of Winchester collectors Peter and Patty Murray.

Condition

Extremely fine condition, with 99% of its custom finish attributes untouched. Very minor handling marks to stock. Mechanics function as they should, slightly stiff. Bore clean with strong rifling.
