Howard (American, b. 1931) expressionist-style oil on canvas painting, titled "Royal Family", executed in an impasto technique, depicting three noblemen in Renaissance clothing adorned with medallion pendants rendered in a cacophony of geometrically patterned colors with an indistinct landscape visible through a window in the background to the left. Signed "Dan F. Howard", titled, and dated "5-17-60" with additional accession number inscription, en verso of stretcher. Housed in a wooden frame with protruding sight edge. Sight: 36 3/4" H x 53 3/4" Framed: 40 1/2" H x 58" W.

Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund. Overall very good condition. Frame with scattered surface wear, particularly to extended sight edge, and minor loss to top edge, measuring 3/4" x 1/4".
