Eight (8) 19th c. Original U.S. Patent Models relating to horses and equestrian subjects.

1st Item: Bridle, or "Headgear for Stopping Runaway Horses", patented April 17, 1860; Patent number 27,952 by Joseph Koehler of New York.  4 in L.

2nd - 3rd Items: Two designs for horseshoes by Albert S. Wilkinson, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; A hinged shoe, Patent 56,307 dated July 10, 1866; and a racing shoe, Patent 61,972 dated February 12, 1867. Each 5 3/4 in W.

4th Item: Improved Horse Collar by Andrew J. Cronk of Peoria, Illinois; Patent 67,508 dated August 6, 1867. 11 in L.

5th Item: Combination Horse Collar "and Hames", by Aulay MacAulay of Cambridgeport, Massachusetts, Patent 166,932, dated August 24, 1875. 8 1/2 in L.

6th Item: Running-Gear for Wagons, by Joseph C. Fowler of Arcola, Texas; Patent 217,601, dated July 15, 1879. 9 in L x 4 1/2 in H.

7th Item: Wagon Bed, w/ detachable folding sides, by Brantley P. Joiner of Florence, Alabama; Patent 249,531 dated November 15, 1881. 11 1/2 L x 4 1/4 H x 6 in W.

8th Item: Quarter Boot for Horses, by Joseph Fennell of Cynthiana, Kentucky; Patent 288,220 dated November 13, 1883. 4 in H x 7 1/2 in L.

Condition

Wagon bed with one cross member disconnected. Head gear with right side eye cover absent. Horseshoes with spots of rust. Running gear missing front wheel. A.J. Cronk Horse Collar with leather degradation. Macaulay horse collar missing hames; leather separated and degrading. Note: due to the innovative / experimental nature of patent models, it can be difficult to ascertain if all original parts are present or working as originally intended, and we do not guarantee their completeness or functionality.
