Biography: "Among the first members of the pottery decoration class at Newcomb College, Emilie LeBlanc was awarded a Diploma in Normal Art in 1897. She continued in the Art program as a graduate art student from 1897-1899 and Tulane University retroactively awarded her a Bachelor of Design in 1921. Her younger sister, Marie de Hoa LeBlanc, was also a Newcomb artisan. After their parents’ deaths in the 1910’s, the sisters continued to live at their home.
