Continental school oil on canvas three-quarter portrait painting of a woman in attired in a white dress and blue sash, with powdered hair and green eyes, against a background with landscape details. Unsigned. Housed in a Rococo-style giltwood frame. Sight: 29 1/2" H x 23" W. Framed: 36 1/2" H x 30 1/2" W. Late 18th/early19th century.
Painting has an old lining. Restoration includes filling losses and retouching paint layer to larger areas of loss on the right side of blouse and lower centers, largest area 1 1/2". Craquelure and scattered areas of retouching throughout visible under UV light inspection.
