American large patriotic blue and white hand-pieced cotton Medallion pattern quilt top, of original design and possibly based on a mosaic floor design, with four eagles in each corner and additional star and foliate designs throughout. Consisting of two blue cotton print fabrics and a white cotton tape to secure the edges. 102 in. x 95 in., Circa 1850 - 1870. New York. Note: This is one of three quilts in this auction from the collection of Linda Felts of Memphis, recently featured in the Pieced & Patterned exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg, Florida, which ran from September 18, 2021, to January 23, 2022.
Condition
Very good overall condition with some minor scattered holes and fabric deterioration, bites to binding, and discoloration. The top is in clean, washed condition.

The estate of collector and designer Linda McCormick Felts, Memphis, TN.
