Frederick Carl Smith (American/California, 1868-1955) oil on canvas laid to board coastal California landscape painting with rocky shores in the foreground before a bay and distant peninsula, possibly Point Mugu, Ventura County. Signed "F. Carl Smith," lower left. Housed in a rusticated white and gilt wood frame. Board: 17 3/4" H x 23 5/8" W. Frame: 23" H x 28 3/4" W.
Condition
With light surface grime plus retouching along left and right edges and additional, scattered retouching, largest area is 1" x 1 1/4" to water, upper center.
