George Hepper (United Kingdom, 1839 - 1868), oil on canvas, genre painting depicting a sunlit cottage interior with a seated husband and wife feeding their pet dogs with dead rabbits on the bench next to the female. Signed lower left, "G. Hepper" and dated 1852. Housed in a carved gesso gilt wood frame with projecting corners. Sight: 27 1/2 in. H x 35 3/8 in. W. Framed: 37 1/4 in. H x 45 1/4 in. W.
Condition
Painting has been relined with some retouching. Please refer to UV light photos. Frame with minor repairs and a couple of areas of gilt loss.
