Jean Michel Folon (Belgian, 1934-2005) surrealist color etching and aquatint, "Metropolis," 1981. Boxy grey figures with glowing yellow and orange eyes and mouths, some with arrows for noses, navigate a space that resembles a minimalist urban environment, with white arrows that point in various, often opposing, directions. Signed lower right and editioned EA IX/X, from the proof edition outside of the arabic numeral edition of 75. With Alice Editions blindstamp, lower left. Housed under glass in a modern wood frame. Sight: 21 7/8 in. H x 24 3/8 in. W. Framed: 24 in. H x 26 1/2 in. W.
