Joseph Delaney (Tennessee/New York, 1904-1991) sketchbook with thirty-five (35) images that includes thirty-two ink wash paintings and ink drawings and three pencil drawings. Includes one street scene, likely New York, with a restaurant and pedestrians and thirty-two figure studies, many with multiple figures, including male and female nudes plus studies of a boy. Some images with inscriptions or notes, primarily en verso, and two partial sheets with inscriptions or notes. All sheets approx. 9 in. H x 6 in. W. Sketchbook: 9 1/4 in. H x 6 in. W. x 1/4 in. D. 

 

 

Condition

Minor toning to sheets. With some minor soiling primarily outside of images. One partial sheet of notes, without image, is detached.
