Created to advertise John Hewelt's marionette show at the theater of the Musee Grevin. A proof impression before text. Signed and dated in the stone, center right. Printed by Imprimerie Chaix (Ateliers Cheret), Paris. Ref.: Broido 471. Unframed. Laid to canvas, rolled, and housed in a shipping tube. Lot also includes Lucy Broido's Cheret catalog raisonne THE POSTERS OF JULES CHERET (New York: Dover, 1980). Sheet: 49 in. H x 35 in. W. Canvas : 51 1/4 in. H x 37 1/2 in. W. Tube: 40 1/2 in. L x 5 in. Dia. Book: 12 3/16 in. x 9 3/8 in. x 1/4 in. Note: This version is before lettering and may be especially early as most include publication information printed in margin at lower left. 

Condition

Overall very good condition, with minor toning especially to extreme edges. Sheet is laid to canvas mount.
