Large group of approximately 90 assorted mid to late 19th century unframed photographs (mostly tintypes) including 6 with Black subjects. There are 3 tintypes depicting Black men, one identified en verso as Phillip Weaver, plus three photographic prints including one of a Black man dressed in a cowboy hat and holding a pistol. The remaining approximately 85 tintypes include white male and female subjects of all ages, ranging from a gem sized portrait of a baby up to quarter plate size. Of special note are 2 photographs labeled as being from a Roane Mountain TN family, a tintype of a man holding a rifle, outdoor scene with a group of men, a photograph of two men with one handing the other a human skull, and a group of identified subjects, members of the Walter and Layton families  - Waitman Walter, Emma Layton Walter, Lydia Hornback Walter, Will Layton. Also included is 1 Magic Lantern glass slide of a man proposing to a woman, titled "There'll Come a Day."
