Margaret Wehrley (Wisconsin, early 20th c.) Works Project Administration (WPA) era Regionalist oil on canvas painting titled "Fishing Shanty Algoma, Wis" depicting men working at a cabin situated along the coast with a view of the water, architecture, and seagulls visible in the background under a windy grey sky. Signed "Wehrley" lower right. Titled en verso of stretcher. Housed in a white and blue painted wood frame. Sight: 16 1/4" H x 23 1/2" W. Framed: 20 1/2" H x 28" W.
Painting has been lined, no visible retouching. Frame with light wear and paint restoration.
