Winchester model 1873 lever action rifle, chambered in 44-40. Round 24 1/4" barrel marked "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT", and "King's Improvement Patented March 29, 1866 Oct. 16, 1860". Serial #97754 (A) dates to 1881-82. Brass carrier, long tang crescent butt plate with sliding door, containing 4 part cleaning rod. Barrel 24 1/4" L; Overall, 43 1/2" L.
Condition
Cycles smoothly, typical age-related wear to stock, no cracks, original screws; missing front and rear sights; dust cover present, but immobile in rear position; green paint on top of frame (can be removed), mild oxidation present, 50% finish remaining.
