Grand Tour paper mache relief sculpture coated in polychrome plaster of the Madonna and Child depicting Mary nursing the Christchild, who is attired in a red garment and Italian "cornicello" or red coral horn, representing Christ's blood. They both sit on a wood-supported base embossed with a Christogram. 29 1/2" H x 18 7/8" W x 4 7/8" D. Early 20th Century.

Condition
Some areas of chipping and pigment loss, largest area 1 3/4" top of Mary's Halo. Cracking along Mary's neck allowing slight movement, 9" long. Sculpture is very fragile.
