Haworth also taught at the Toronto Central Technical School and the University of Toronto. During World War I he served with the Royal Flying Corps and won the Distinguished Flying Cross. During World War II he was commissioned by the National Gallery as a home front war artist and was posted in British Columbia. He held leadership roles in the Ontario Society of Artists, and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. He was also a member of the Canadian Group of Painters (the successor to the Group of Seven) and a member of the Royal Canadian Academy. He exhibited with the above organizations at many of the major museums and galleries in Canada. He also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1939 and 1940. His work is in numerous public and private collections. Ref. Colin S. MacDonald, "A Dictionary of Canadian Artists," and Anthony Westbridge and Diana L.
