Our July 6-7 Live Auction in Knoxville features more than 1,000 lots of Fine Art, Antiques and Jewelry from the founding family of Rogersville, TN, and from the historic Pinckney family of Charleston, SC; from the estate of William J. Eskind of Nashville; the living estate of Jerry Waters, Maryville, the estate of U.S. Ambassador Ron Schlicher of Brentwood, and from other fine estates and private and museum collections. Three (3) Porcelain items. 1st item: Meissen-style Cherub figural clock, with cherub holding paint palette and brush, with an easel and painting mounted to top of clock. Lion head decoration to other side. Accented with gilt and floral decoration. Comes with winding key stamped GERMANY. 193 stamped to underside. 12 1/2" H x 9 3/4" W x 3 1/2" D. 2nd-3rd items: Pair of two (2) Meissen shell form dishes hand painted decoration with exotic birds and insects, gilt design to borders. Undersides with crossed sword marks. Each 7 3/8" H x 8 1/2" W x 2" D. All items German, likely late 19th/early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Estate of Elizabeth L. Wall, Knoxville, Tennessee, granddaughter of James Allen Smith, who founded White Lily Flour in Knoxville c. 1883.

Condition

1st item: 2 1/4" L repaired break to picture on top of clock. 3/8" dia loss to left base corner. 3/8" loss to tassle decoration on back of clock. Glazed-over loss to cherub's waist, likely in making. Loss to tip of cherub's paintbrush. Hinged face window doesn't close completely. Minor crazing on clock face. Not tested for functionality. 2nd-3rd items: Firing flaw to underside of one dish. 1/2" chip to outer rim of one. Some wear to gilt decoration.
