Two (2) Keith Miller (Canada/Mexico, b. 1949) maritime watercolor paintings depicting historical sailing ships or races. 1st item: Watercolor depicting the 1876 America's Cup race between the Countess of Dufferin and the Madeleine. Signed lower right. Note: The Countess of Dufferin was the first Canadian challenger for the America's Cup, where it was defeated (in the depicted race) by the Madeleine in a best-of-three competition held in New York on August 11th and 12th, 1876. 2nd item: Watercolor depicting numerous sailing vessels and a steamship on the open ocean. Signed lower right. Both items housed under plexiglass in giltwood frames with cream double-mats. Both sights: 21 1/2" H x 29" W. Both framed: 29 1/2" H x 37" W.
Condition
Both items in excellent condition, with fresh colors. Not examined outside of frames.
