1st item: Antique Tekke Turkman floor rug, wool on wool, central rust field with four rows of seven guls each, with two elem panels at each end with stylized feather and diamond designs. Woven in red, blue, and cream colors. 3 ft. 6 in. x 3 ft. 2 in. Circa 1890s. 2nd item: Antique Baluch Afghan tribal prayer rug, wool on wool, with geometric and foliate-decorated cream ground mihrab within multiple traditional design borders. Woven in rust, blue, brown, and cream colors. 4 ft. 6 in. x 2 ft. 10 in. Circa 1875.

Condition

1st item:  Overall very good condition, light wear to each fringed end. 2nd item: Overall good condition, some scattered visible knots. Losses to each fringed end.

Provenance

Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
