Walter Hollis Stevens (Tennessee, 1927-1980) abstract acrylic on canvas painting titled "Tomb I" comprised of amorphous shapes in red, blue, grey, black, and multi-layered hues against a bright blue background. Signed and dated "Stevens '68". Title, additional signature and date, medium, and dimensions inscribed, en verso to stretcher. Housed in original wooden frame. Sight: 40 1/8" H x 28 1/8" W. Framed: 40 5/8" H x 28 3/4" W.
Minor area of creasing from stretcher to right edge, measuring 3 1/2" L. Minute area of errant white paint uper left, measuring 1/8" x 1/8". Some scattered surface grime.
