Two (2) Maxfield Parrish (American, 1870-1966) prints.1st item: Triptych of lithographs after Parrish's Florentine Fete series originally published by Curtis Publishing Company, Detroit, 1915. Titled from left to right: Love's Pilgrimage, Garden of Opportunity, and A Call to Joy. With Italian Renaissance-era scenes in Parrish's lyrical Pre-Raphaelite and Art Nouveau-influenced style. Housed under glass in a tripartite silver and red wooden frame with speckled gilt mat. Sight: 23 1/2" W x 20 1/2" H. Frame: 30 3/4" W x 27 1/2" H. Note: These prints depict panels from Parrish's mural suite Florentine Fete, painted between 1910 and 1916 for the Girls Dining Room at Curtis Publishing in Philadelphia. 2nd item: Offset lithograph titled Prometheus, 1976, depicting the Titan who in Greek mythology stole fire from the Olympians and gifted it to humankind. With Creative Color Service Group certificate of authenticity stating that the print is number 180 from an edition of 500. Housed under glass in an ornate black and gilt frame with mottled green mat. Sight: 28" H x 17" W. Frame: 38 3/4" H x 28 3/16" W. Note: In 1917 General Electric commissioned Parrish to create paintings based on the theme of light for a series of calendars advertising the company's Edison Mazda lamps, which were published starting in 1921. The images became very popular as electricity spread throughout the United States.

Condition

1st item: Scattered, minor abrasions and accretions to lower half of central panel. With some fading to colors. 2nd item: Overall very good condition. Not examined outside of frame.
