Two portraits on paper, possibly Southern, and an engraved French portrait.  1st item:  American school, possibly Southern, mid 19th century charcoal and white chalk half-length portrait of a young boy with a white collar. Old paper fragment affixed to verso (possibly from a newspaper masthead) reads: "[Ma]rch 13, 1844." With three red leaves tucked behind glazing at lower left. Housed under glass in a stained wood frame. Sight: 4 3/4 in. H x 4 1/4 in. W. Framed: 7 3/4 in. H x 7 in. W. 2nd item: American school, possibly Southern, 19th c. watercolor on paper three-quarter length oval portrait of a woman in a lace pelerine, second half of 19th c. She wears her brown hair in ringlets and sits in a Gothic revival chair. A book held in her right hand rests in her lap. Housed under glass in a stained and painted wood frame with parcel gilt patterning and mat with gilt sight edge. Sight: 11 1/2 in. H x 8 1/2 in. W. Framed: 18 1/2 in. H x 15 3/4 in. W.  3rd item: Louis Pierre Henriquel-Dupont (French, 1797-1892) stipple engraving profile portrait of Antoine-Philippe d'Orleans, Duke of Montpensier, 1837. From MEMOIRS OF THE DUKE OF MONTPENSIER (Paris: Imprimerie Royale, 1837). Housed under glass in a molded giltwood frame. Sight: 6 1/2 in. H x 4 1/2 in. W. Framed: 9 1/2 in. H x 7 1/2 in. W. 

All items in overall very good condition. Not examined out of frames. Item 1 with even fading and toning to sheet plus surface grime or accretions, some possibly adhesive, primarily to background. Mat with tear without loss to lower right plus toning and surface grime. Frame with scattered abrasions. Item 2 in overall very good condition, with pinholes to lower left, in and around arm, and toning to sheet. Frame with abrasions and losses. Item 3 in overall very good condition, with a few spots of foxing.
