Three plates from Giovanni Battista Piranesi's (Italian, 1720-1778) Le Antichita Romane (Antiquities of Rome), originally published 1756, depicting Rome and Roman architecture. 1st item: Remains of the College of Silvano Aureliano About Four Miles From Rome. From the first Paris edition published 1800-1807. With sticker of Henry Sotheran Limited, London, affixed to backing. Plate: 18" H x 11 3/8" W. Sheet: 22" H x 16 1/4" W. Frame: 26 7/8" H x 19 1/4". Ref.: Focillon 395, Wilton-Ely 229. 2nd item: Plan of the Remains of the Portico of Marcus Philippus. Plate: 15 7"/16 H x 10 1/16" W. Sheet: 21" H x 15 1/4" W. Frame: 25 3/4" H x 19 1/2". Ref.: Focillon 384, Wilton-Ely 218. 3rd item: Plan of the Remains of the Arcase Built by M. A. Lepidus and P. A. Paullus. Plate: 15 7/16" H x 9 3/4" W. Sheet: 21" H x 15" W. Frame: 25 3/4" H x 19 1/2". Ref.: Focillon 386, Wilton-Ely 220. All items on laid paper and housed behind plexiglass in modern, black and gilt frames with white mats. Condition

1st item with wide margins, dogear marginal crease to lower right corner and 1 1/4" repaired marginal tear in lower right quadrant. Sheet is missing upper right corner outside of the plate. Foxing to back of sheet. 2nd and 3rd items in excellent condition with wide margins.
